THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

-Robert Frost

WE NEED YOUR STORY FOR OUR BOOK!

The world is replete with individuals for whom walking has morphed from a mere mechanical act to a journey of transformation. Their narratives are testaments to the profound impact that the simple act of walking can have on one's body, mind, and soul. The stories unfold across diverse landscapes - from bustling city streets to serene woodland trails, each step taken is a narrative of personal transformation, a testament to the profound simplicity of walking.

Listed below are the 6 sections of chapter 11 we are seeking your input on. The excerpts are only examples, so just know that your story does not need to align perfectly with those examples. The book is a comprehensive exploration into the who, what, when, where, and why of walking. ALL FEATURED SUBMISSIONS WILL RECEIVE CITATION.

1. THE HEALING HIKER

"After my diagnosis, I felt a storm raging within me. But amidst the turmoil, I found solace on the trails. With each step, I felt a part of the chaos within untangling. Walking became my sanctuary, my therapy."

2. THE MINDFUL WANDERER

"Walking has become my moving meditation. It's astonishing how the rhythmic act of walking can ferry you into a state of mindfulness, how the worries of yesterday and anxieties of tomorrow just dissolve with each step taken in the present."

3. THE SOCIAL STROLLER

"The walking group I joined became more than just a weekend gathering; it morphed into a community. It's amazing how walking together, sharing stories and laughter, can foster such a sense of belonging and friendship."

4. THE URBAN EXPLORER

"Walking transformed my perception of the city I live in. I discovered quaint cafes, historical landmarks, and the tapestry of cultures that weave through the streets. The city revealed its soul to me through my walks."

5. THE PILGRIM OF PURPOSE

"Embarking on a pilgrimage on foot was a journey both outward and inward. With each mile, I delved deeper into my spiritual quest, finding answers in the silence of my steps and the whispers of the ancient pathways."

6. THE ENVIRONMENTAL ENTHUSIAST

"Choosing to walk instead of drive was my small step towards environmental conservation. But, it blossomed into a deep connection with nature. Walking made me more conscious, more appreciative of the beauty and fragility of our environment."
